Proposed Building on Hudson Boulevard at Lincoln Park
- Description:
- In 1930, the college sold Manresa Hall. This money allowed the college, in 1931, to purchase the Albanesius property on Hudson Boulevard at Lincoln Park for $63,000 as a new home for the college. Paul Monghan, an architect from Philadelphia, was hired to draw the plans for a 10-story building to cost $450,000. When bids were taken for construction, total costs were estimated to rise to $880,000. The cost of the project proved to be too expensive, forcing the college to abandon the plans to build on the site. Eventually the land was exchanged for lots on Montgomery and Glenwood Avenue.
