Luminaries of the Black Freedom Movement at Saint Peter's College
Many in the Saint Peter’s community are familiar with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr’s visit in 1965. Dr. King, however, was just one of over dozen Black Freedom luminaries who came to Saint Peter’s between 1964 and 1975. The register of women and men whose labors advanced causes of Black liberation specifically, and human liberation more broadly, is quite remarkable. This gallery explores that history.
